Liquid Oxygen Plant
Overview
The Liquid Oxygen Plant is an industrial facility that produces high-purity liquid oxygen from atmospheric air. It compresses, cools, and separates air into oxygen and other gases through cryogenic distillation, providing a continuous, reliable supply of liquid oxygen.

Working principle
| Step | Process | Key Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Air Compression | Compress ambient air to 0.5–1.0 MPa to enable liquefaction. |
| 2 | Air Pre-Cooling | Lower air temperature below 10°C; removes most moisture. |
| 3 | Air Purification | Remove moisture, CO₂, hydrocarbons via adsorption to prevent freezing/blockage. |
| 4 | Air Liquefaction | Heat exchange with reflux gas cools air to ~-173°C; partial liquefaction occurs in condenser evaporator. |
| 5 | Distillation Separation | Two-stage distillation separates oxygen and nitrogen: • Lower tower: produces O₂-rich liquid (~38%) and nitrogen gas • Upper tower: O₂-rich liquid distilled to >99.6% purity; nitrogen collected at top |
| 6 | Product Output | Liquid oxygen stored or vaporized for delivery; low-pressure O₂ can be compressed and sent to users; nitrogen, argon, and other by-products recovered simultaneously. |

Core Features
High purity
It can stably produce oxygen with a purity of over 99.6%, and can reach 99.9% under special configurations, meeting the needs of high-precision fields such as metallurgy and electronics.
01
Large production capacity
The oxygen output of a single set of equipment can range from tens of cubic meters/hour to tens of thousands of cubic meters/hour, suitable for large-scale industrial oxygen use scenarios.
02
Continuity
Once started and running stably, it can produce gas continuously for a long time, with a typical operating cycle of 1-3 years (requiring regular shutdown maintenance).
03
Rich by-products
In addition to deoxygenated gas, high-purity nitrogen (over 99.999%), argon (over 99.999%), rare gases such as neon and helium can be simultaneously produced, improving resource utilization efficiency.
04
Long start-up time
Due to the need to complete system cooling, liquefaction, and other processes, it usually takes 12-48 hours to start up to standard gas production (which can be shortened to several hours for small equipment).
