Overview

 

The PSA Unit for Hydrogen Production is an industrial gas purification system designed to separate and recover high-purity hydrogen from mixed process gases. Using pressure swing adsorption technology, the system continuously removes impurities such as CO₂, CO, CH₄, moisture, and nitrogen from hydrogen-rich streams.

Working principle

 

Step Process Stage Description
1 Adsorption Impurities are absorbed under high pressure to produce high-purity hydrogen.
2 Pressure Equalization Hydrogen remaining in the adsorption bed is recovered through controlled pressure balancing.
3 Co-Current Depressurization Partial pressure release provides regeneration gas for the next cycle.
4 Counter-Current Depressurization The bed is depressurized in reverse flow direction to regenerate the adsorbent material.
5 Purging Regeneration Product hydrogen is used to remove residual impurities and complete adsorbent regeneration.
6 Re-Pressurization The adsorption bed is gradually repressurized and prepared for the next adsorption cycle.
